AR Pediatric Music Therapy offers both groups and individual therapy. Our preschool music groups focus on social, motor, and preliteracy skills through music. AR Pediatric Music Therapy also works in a private school to provide Music Therapy to clients who have been referred by their school districts.
Music Notes:
What did we accomplish in 2023?
AR Pediatric Music Therapy had a big year in building our practice and creating a website. Our music groups read countless books, sang songs, danced to our favorite songs, and participated in fun activities. Here are some cool skills we worked on this year:
Reduced W sitting!
Practiced feelings and modeled emotional intelligence
Sang counting songs
Practiced fine motor skills with finger plays
Practiced animal sounds
Created new songs using familiar tunes
Traded instruments with friends
Practiced turn taking with Hot Potato
Practiced Sequencing with "Make a Pizza"
Promoted pre-literacy, including sequencing, predicting, using context clues, and answering WH- questions
Practiced gross motor skills while dancing
Practiced impulse control with games like Floor is Lava and Freeze Dance
And we had lots of fun! Let's see what we can do in 2024!
What are we reading?
There was a Cold Lady who Swallowed a Clover: Follow the silly story of an old lady, who swallows a four leaf clover! We use our context clues to predict what she will make in the end!
The Littlest Leprechaun: Poor Seamus may never get his pot of gold due to his inventions that take up all his time! He is much too busy to make fairy shoes, and then he forgets to paint the town green for St Patrick's day!
There was a Cold Lady who Swallowed a Chick: A fun, familiar book that lead us to a fun Spring adventure!
